Tomland Monster Toys
In the late 70’s and early 80’s, Tomland toys produced a huge range of cheap and often unlicensed toys including their ‘Starroid Raiders’, ‘Famous Monsters of Legend’ and the mini-monster ranges. Carded versions were labeled with the "Combex" brand name in Europe while American cards are marked Tomland or Kresge. Strangely enough, these cheap ‘knock-off’ toys have become incredibly collectable, despite their cheap and cheesy appearance. Their mini monster range can sell for up to $800 a figure and their 8 inch Universal Monster range has become so rare that only three or four figures have ever surfaced!
