Stabilized Famous Big Foot Footage
Coincidences are a funny thing. At the weekend I sat and enjoyed the big foot comedy film Harry And The Hendersons with my five year old son. He really enjoyed it, as I did. Back when I was that young, I remember seeing the famous footage of the creature romping through the forest, shot by Patterson and Gimlin. It's probably one of the most recognisable bits of footage from the world of strange creatures and cryptozoolgy.
Over the years I recall seeing various documentaries on the film. Some analyzed the gait and walk of the creature, others looked into it being a hoax. I'm not certain it's real to be honest, but now you can get a good look at it with the joys of image stablization. A version of the footage has appeared online, and thanks to modern video techniques, the shake has been taken out to create a mesemrizing and stable bit of footage. What do you think? Personally, about two thirds of the way through you see what looks like a zip line down the back, but who knows!
I was looking at something else Sasquatch related the other day, and spotted a film on IMDB called "Sasquatch, the Legend of Bigfoot". I have really vague recollections of seeing this film as a young 'un on TV one night in the early 80s. It's caused me an itch that I need to scratch, and luckily the film's made it to DVD. Needless to say, it's been ordered and I'm looking forward to seeing if I have in fact seen it. There's a couple of other good monster flicks on there as well, so it will make a nice little package. I'll report back when I've had a chance to watch it.
